-School Safety: This is a remnder that Michigan is still having very high covid cases. It is very important to work together to keep our children and school environment safe for everyone:
a) If your child is sick, please, keep him/her at home and call the school office. Please, do not think it is just cold and send him/her to school.
b) If one of your household members is sick, please keep your child at home and call the school office.
c) If your child is not vaccinated and he/she is eligible for vaccination, please get him/her vaccinated.
d) Remind your child of the importance of wearing a mask properly at school. Any student who frequently & purposely does not wear mask properly will be sent home for the day.
e) If your child is absent for any reason, please call the school office asap and let us know.
I know that everyone is tired of covid (including school staff), but we have a responsibility in front of Allah to keep our school environment safe for everyone, especially in the next few weeks. We appreciate your cooperation, patience, and Dua in this matter.
High School back to In Person Learning: Insha Allah, the high school students will be back to in person learning tomorrow Monday November 29. In order to avoid going online again, we will continue to enforce the school covid safety protocol. We expect all high school students to follow these rules completely to avoid sending anyone home. -Re-Accreditation (December 6 & 7): Every five years Genesee Academy goes through a re-accreditation process by Cognia (previously AdvancEd-the accrediting organization). During the process a committee from Cognia interviews board members, administration, teachers, some parents and students. Also, the committee inspects the required documents which show that Genesee Academy meets the standards and adheres to its mission statement.
-Winter Break: Insha Allah, the winter break will be from Thursday December 23 to Sunday January 2.
-No School: There will be NO school on Monday January 17.
-MS/HS Mid-Term Exams: The middle school mid-term exams will be from Tuesday January 18-Friday January 21, and the high school mid-term exams will be from Wednesday January 19-Friday January 21.
-End of 2nd Quarter: Friday January 21 is the end of the 2nd quarter, and the students will have a half day school, i.e. the students' dismissal is at 12:00 pm.
